Dorset Inclusivity Officer
Location: Combination of home working plus with travel across the Dorset Council area including Citizens Advice local offices
Citizens Advice East Dorset & Purbeck (CAEDP) is looking to employ a Dorset Inclusivity Officer to manage this new contract funded by Dorset Council. The successful post holder(s) will be employed by CAEDP, but will work on behalf of the three Dorset Local Citizens Advice to deliver this project.
The scope of the project is to work with local businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the hospitality and retail sector, to implement a sustainable framework of inclusivity and accessibility across the Dorset Council area.
The post holder will work collaboratively with:
- The existing three Dorset Citizens Advice EDI teams, pooling resources to enhance the offer
- The new Dorset Council EDI Officer
- Local business groups including Business Improvement Districts, Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership etc
- Local VCSE organisations including Help and Kindness, Disability groups etc
- Other organisations and businesses
The aims of the project are to:
- Reduce isolation & support inclusion of marginalised groups,
- Improve EDI knowledge amongst SMEs in the Dorset Council area,
- Improve access to information for communities, as well as provide support into volunteering, training, and employment.
This is a new and exciting opportunity and we are looking to attract a person who has a genuine interest in equality, diversity and inclusion matters as well as good interpersonal skills.
Role Details
Salary: £25,926 per annum plus additional pension benefits.
Hours: Full Time: 37 per week; job share considered
Type of contract: 12 months fixed term, with the possibility of an extension

Financial Capability Adviser
Location: East Dorset & Purbeck
We have two vacancies in our successful homelessness prevention and support project Moving On. This project has been running for 5 years and is currently funded by two funders, Nationwide and Henry Smith. The current funding runs until 31st March 2022 and 31st December 2023 consecutively, with continuation funding anticipated.
We are looking for highly motivated people with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
For the Financial Capability role, you should have a sound knowledge and experience of welfare benefits advice as well as financial capability experience. You will work closely with the Housing Caseworker and the Project Admin.
Role Details
Salary: £24,982 – £25,581 pa pro rata (dependent on experience)
Hours: 21 hours per week
Type of contract: Fixed term: 21 hours currently and until 31 March 2022, then 14 hours until 31 December 2023 (contracts expected to be extended so hours may remain).

Fighting Fuel Poverty: Energy Adviser
Location: East Dorset & Purbeck
We have a vacancy for an Energy Adviser to join our dynamic organisation. The Fighting Fuel Poverty Project runs across Dorset (both Council areas) with Advisers based at home, and is funded by The Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Fund. The Fund redistributes voluntary payments made by UK energy companies and is administered by The Energy Saving Trust.
The Adviser will be responsible for the delivery of energy advice to households who are claiming means tested benefits, in order to reduce fuel poverty. The project aims to build financial resilience among vulnerable consumers and increase the likelihood of households being able to meet their heating requirements to stay warm and safe and avoid cold-related health problems. Advice may include reducing energy expenditure, income maximisation, avoiding debt and disconnection, and helping to resolve complaints.
This service will be delivered through various channels including telephone and online support, with face to face and home visits once Covid 19 guidance allows. The post is full-time, based at home, but being located across both Dorset Council and Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council areas when offices re-open.
For the Energy Adviser role you will need to demonstrate proven competence in delivering advice to consumers. You may also be required to hold or train to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Energy Awareness.

Location: Based at home or as Covid-19 guidance permits, the Wareham office.
Citizens Advice East Dorset & Purbeck are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer to support the Chief Officer and the Trustee Board in the management and development of financial records and reporting as well as providing financial support for grant application and third party contracts.
You will be a good team player with an ability to supervise the part-time Finance Administrator, both remotely and from our Wareham office, to ensure continuity of financial support.
You will have considerable experience of similar roles, preferably within the charitable sector.
