Citizens Advice East Dorset & Purbeck said goodbye to their Chief Executive Officer who has retired after volunteering and working for the organisation for 27 years.

Helen Goldsack started as a volunteer for Citizens Advice in 1999 at Wareham and then in 2002 became a paid member of staff working for Dorchester Citizens Advice and then as Purbeck Manager based in Wareham. Helen was then appointed Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Advice East Dorset & Purbeck following the merger of Purbeck and East Dorset Citizens Advice in 2021.
Alan Breakwell, Chair of Trustees, Citizens Advice East Dorset & Purbeck, said: “Helen has been an inspirational lead for our organisation and will be very much missed by everyone at Citizens Advice. Her leadership, energy and commitment has helped guide the organisation through some very difficult times including covid, the cost of living crisis and the energy crisis whilst ensuring we deliver the best possible service to the local community.”
Helen said: “During my time with Citizens Advice, I’ve seen the organisation change, grow and adapt to meet the demands of the people we help and I have enjoyed the challenges this brings. I’m very proud of introducing the Advice Bus to the local community which has now helped over 3,000 people who may not have been able to access our existing service.”
“The success of our organisation is down to the dedication, compassion and commitment from our team of wonderful volunteers and staff. I have really enjoyed my time working for Citizens Advice and will miss the team, but it’s now time for me to hand the reins over and enjoy retirement.”
