Citizens Advice East Dorset and Purbeck is a local charity offering free, confidential, impartial information and advice. Citizens Advice is our National Body and a charity in its own right.
We also campaign on issues that affect the local community and the whole of the UK, working with politicians, regulators and others to change things for the better.
Advice and Information
Our fully trained volunteers and staff give advice and information on a wide range of issues including benefits, debt, housing, employment, energy saving, and consumer issues. Alongside face to face advice at a number of different locations across East Dorset and Purbeck, we also offer telephone and email advice, and self help advice through our website.
We speak up about the policies and services that cause people problems. You can get involved by supporting our campaigns and helping us change things for the better.
We couldn’t do it without our dedicated and highly trained volunteer advisers and caseworkers, not to mention our administrators, trustees, campaigners, fundraisers and supporters.
Our funding
As an independent, local charity, we are governed by a board of trustees who are ultimately responsible for the quality and range of our service. Citizens Advice is our National Body and a charity in its own right but they do not fund us. Our funding is made up of grants, and the fundraising efforts of our staff and volunteers. Raising funds to keep the service going gets harder every year so your support and the support of the local community is vital if we are to continue supporting our clients.
