Citizens Advice in East Dorset & Purbeck is opening an additional drop in session at their office in Wimborne, due to an increase in demand for their advice services.

With the cost of living increase, more people are coming to Citizens Advice for help about a number of different issues, putting additional demand on services. Citizens Advice in East Dorset & Purbeck helped over 5,600 residents in the last financial year (2024-25) with over 28,500 issues.
Ros Dignan, Head of Advice Services, Citizens Advice in East Dorset & Purbeck says: “We are experiencing an increase in demand for our services, where previously someone may come to us about help with benefits we are now seeing that they may need help with debt and energy advice. As a result, and to cope with demand, we are increasing our Wimborne advice session from two to three sessions a week.”
Starting Friday 14th November, residents will be able to call by on a Friday morning, 10am-12pm at their office in Hanham Road, Wimborne. This is a drop in service with no appointment needed.
Ros adds: “Our new Friday drop in session will be a general advice service, but we also have specialist advisers who may be able to assist including energy and debt specialists.”
